IUG 2012 Forum Recorders

The Innovative Users Group will prepare online summaries of forums from IUG 2012, the 20th Annual IUG Conference in Chicago, Illinois and they will be posted to the website after the conference. Being a forum recorder is easy! Volunteer recorders attend forums presented by IUG members and summarize the sessions. Two volunteers are needed for each forum.

What You Need to Do:

  • Contact the Program Coordinator and introduce yourself, by email in advance or in person at the conference. Make sure you know how to contact each other.
  • Attend the forum you volunteer to cover
  • Take notes, including an estimate of the number of people at the session
  • Prepare a 1-2 page summary of the forum with your partner
  • Send your draft summary to the Program Coordinator to review
  • Submit the summary to Sheryl Bissen by Friday, June 1, 2012

Formatting of Summary:

  • No need to include IUG logos
  • Include program number (e.g., F1) next to the program name at the top of summary
  • Include names of coordinators, presenters, and yourself, along with institutions, on each summary
  • Summarize using complete sentences, not outlines
  • Try to limit the final length to 2 pages
  • Send your file in Word or .txt format as an email attachment
