Consider serving your IUG by standing for election
to a position on the IUG Steering Committee! The Innovative Users Group is one of the leading library technology organizations, focused on facilitating the way libraries use Innovative Interfaces' products.
The IUG is a volunteer organization. The Steering Committee plans the annual IUG conference and ALA Midwinter Meeting updates. It also hosts the IUG website, mailing list, clearinghouse, enhancements, and provides support to regional IUG groups.

Steering Committee 2012 - 2013
For the "IUG Year" 2012 - 2013, we will elect:
- One Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect (three year term)
- Three Members-at-Large (two year terms)
The terms for each of these begin on the last day of the upcoming IUG conference in Chicago on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
Duties
All Steering Committee members speak for the membership, serve on ad hoc working groups, and provide advice to the Chair.
The Vice-Chair serves as Chair of the Program Committee for the Annual IUG Conference, and then oversees all conference planning the following year when he or she serves as Chair.
The Members-at-Large work in teams to oversee the IUG Clearinghouse and the IUG Enhancements Process and work with our Regional Groups, as well as assist with various conference planning activities.
Please feel free to contact any member of the Steering Committee about serving on the committee. You can find us at: http://www.innovativeusers.org/iug-steering-committee
Meetings
The IUG Steering Committee has four regularly scheduled meetings during the year. Two are during the Annual IUG Conference and there is one each at ALA Annual and ALA Midwinter. Attendance at the ALA Midwinter meeting is mandatory for all Steering Committee members, but only the Steering Committee Officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Past-Chair, Secretary-Treasurer, and Financial Consultant) are required to meet at ALA Annual.
All Steering Committee members are expected to attend the entire Annual IUG Conference. Members are expected to arrive two days before the Pre-Conference day and remain through the first meeting of the incoming Steering Committee, just after the final session on the final day of the conference, departing on the day after the conference if necessary to meet that obligation.
Compensation
Compensation includes free conference registration, complimentary hotel room for the duration of the Annual Conference, including the extra days of the Steering Committee commitment, an assortment of free meals and plenty of great fun! A stipend is also supplied to support attendance at the ALA Steering Committee meetings held at ALA Annual and ALA Midwinter.
